Great places!

Today is your day!

Your mountain is

Get on your way!”

GRADE R (READINESS)

Grade R children get the full benefit of a busy and vibrant school readiness programme. Although the focus is still on learning through discovery and play, it is more structured with the focus on developing those skills so important for reading, writing and doing sums. Here we plan to learn!

Children follow a rigorous, age-appropriate school readiness programme developed by the expert on childhood development, Dr Melodie de Jager.

They also have the full benefit of the highly-acclaimed Play Ball (www.playball.life/life) and Physifun programmes (www.physifun.co.za) to develop essential ball skills and the eye-hand co-ordination necessary for playing sport and reading and writing in Grade 1. Grade R children also follow the Knowledge Network Computer programme. The Music for our Little Ones programme (www.samusicschool.co.za) adds another dimension to their school week with children leaving Grade R already able to read music.

School readiness testing is done at the end of the school year by a qualified Readiness assessor. Our Grade R children are truly ready to face the challenges of Grade 1 when they come to the end of the school year.
